Recently, what children and teenagers do during after after-school hours, weekends and breaks have emerged a public concern among educators, policymakers, and parents. These opportunities housed both in schools and communities provide young people with an opportunity to improve in their academics and other abilities in a broad range of domains by providing high-interest activities. Career enhancement programs enable an adolescent to improve their academic performances as well developing their professional ambitions. On the other hand, social enhancement activities play a significant role in developing other capabilities such as socializing skills, behavior transformation, and self-acceptance. In other words, out-of-school activities are crucial in the personal development of a young person in several aspect s. Examples from my experience During my time in school, I have participated in several out-of-school activities which have enabled me to develop and improve not only in my academics but also in my socializing skills. The majority of the programs I take part in revolves around literacy and academic development initiatives, educational and social development programs. Literacy enhancement programs have engaged me in writing and reading activities in significantly motivating environments. Such events have ignited my interest in learning thus translating into an improved academic performance. Furthermore, educational programs I participate in have aided me in developing my career goals and objectives in a substantial manner. Besides, social development programs have significantly supported my social and emotional development in various ways such as conflict-resolution abilities and character building with less accentuate on the academics. Application in Health Services career Skills and abilities a learner gathers while participating in out-of-school programs are vital not only in their teenage lives but also in their career goals and objectives. Students participate in literacy and academic enhancement programs voluntarily which enable them to meet other learners, with similar career ambitions, coming from a broad range of educational backgrounds. These activities allow Health Science specialists, for instance, to collaborate with other students where they exchange basic ideas, thus opening the intellectual capacity of an individual which transforms into enhanced education accomplishments.
